FEBRUARY - MARCH 2010
Sat 27th March
The Scottish Breed show today and pleased to watch Jacky handle Seamus to the dog CC. As for Libby 3rd of 3 in both classes. When the entries came back on friday marked " address not known" perhaps we should have heeded it as an omen not to bother going !! enough said............ On a brighter note Connies and Sugars babies continue to grow and look really promising. It is amazing to see the difference there is between the two litters just 10 days apart. For those of you too young to remember The Two Ronnies sketch a link can be found to the sketch on the front page ( four candles )
Fri 26th March
Angela is busy trimming and bathing Libby for the Scottish Ch show on Sat while I shuttle between the two lots of babies. They are all looking well and Sugars are 2 weeks on Saturday. Doesn't time fly when you're having fun! I should have some time to put some pics of them all on the litters page later today. Speaking to my Vet yesterday and asked what the odds were of 11 of the 12 pups being breach birth and he said I should not bother putting the lottery on this weekend with luck like mine !!
Wed 24th March
All seems well with the new arrivals at the moment and Connie is a doting mum. I've put some pics of them on Connies litter page They are quite a good size even though they are early and feeding well. Sugar has been to inspect them this morning and decided they are not hers after all and gone back to her own.
Tue 23rd March
Connies babies decided they couldn't wait to put in an appearance last night so, after several trips to the Vets and a lot of huffing and puffing, 6 new babies 2 girls 1Liver/white 1 Black/ white and 4 boys 3 black/ white and 1 Liver/ white. They all look well and she has settled in with them really quickly. Sugar is wondering what is going on as she is not the centre of attraction and she is sure they must really be hers. I will get some pictures of them at some point today but for now I'm going to bed to catch up on some sleep !!
Sat 20th March
No shows for this weekend but it gives us a chance to catch up on some sleep and jobs that need doing around the garden. Some new pictures of Sugars babies at 1 week old taken this morning. They are doing well and Sugar is settled nicely with them now. She's not even bothered that Connie is wandering around the room with her. Connie is looking a bit like a pear at the moment but is quite happy in herself. Ola is not impressed at being banned from the front room because of the babies but she is looking really nice at the moment but still won't stand still but she is getting better. Hope to get some pics of her standing some time this weekend and put them on her page.
Thur 18th March
Sugars babies are doing well and growing like weeds and some new photos have been added to the Sugars litters page.
Mon 15th March
Well we didn't make it to Crufts after all we were both too tired. Well done to all of you that did and we were really thrilled to see Dede's Grandad go Best In Show well done to Moray, John Kath and Naomi. Sugars babies are settled and growing well. Some new pics have been added to the current litters page. Next show is the Scottish and we should make it with a bit of luck.
Sat 13th March
Sugars babies decided to make an early appearance today. 2 Girls 1 l/w 1 b/w and 4 boys 2 of each colour all doing well at the moment but I'm knackered and I don't know if I will get to Crufts on Sunday! Shame really as Libby and Dede are looking really well and Angela has spent a lot of time getting them ready. I'll get some pictures of them all done at some point today and put on the site. (see Sugars litter page)
Fri 5th March
Not much happening this weekend as we missed the entry for the local open show. Good news is that Connie does seem to be in whelp to Seamus so puppies will be due late March (Also see planned litters page for more news on Sugars expected litter.)
Mon 1st March
Billingham Synthonia open show on Sunday We showed Libby under judge Mr N Worth and won her class and BOB so that cheered us up a bit. Great news from the Southern English Springer That Hannahs (Hunterheck Hermione at Tigerrock) sire Roqfolly Ballroom Blitz gained his third CC Congratulations to Gareth and Ceri.
Fri February 26th
A really sad day today. After a short illness we had to make the decision to put Beth to sleep. She was just short of her 10th birthday. We are supposed to be going to Easington and Peterlee open show on saturday but we don't know if we can face it. The weather here is matching our mood with torrential rain and gale force winds. At least we have'nt got the snow they are getting in Scotland. Ola continues to grow like a weed and is looking really nice at the moment. I will put some new pics of them all up in the next couple of days.
Mon February 15th
Angela went to Jarrow and Hebburn open show yesterday and Libby ended her puppy career with BOB under judge Mr Tom Johnston and Puppy Group 3 under the same judge! Dede won her class and BOB but did not go any further. So not a bad weekend especially with the reserve handler!! I went down to steward at the Nortumberland and Durham Lab club open show. Had a nice day well fed and looked after as usual. So today is Libby's first birthday! Happy birthday to all her litter mates as well. It doesn't seem like five minutes since they were born ! Ola continues to grow like a weed and get even naughtier but we wouldn't have them any other way would we?.
Sun February 7th
Northern Counties Gundog today and a great start to the month with Frankie winning BOB and Libby BP under judge Miss M Ross and Dede winning BOB under judge Mrs L Adams. Then even better Libby went on to Best Puppy in Show under Mrs L Adams !! So not a bad day really!
