.Pippa was our very first show springer. Bred by Dorothy Williams she was not really bought as a show dog we wanted a family pet to replace a much loved Doberman (the last of 4 that we owned) Who had died earlier in the year. The boys pestered us until we gave in and Angela heard about Dorothy through her work. It wasn't until later walking her around the game fair that someone suggested we should show her.I Had intended her to be trained to the gun but we entered our first show and the rest, as they say, is history. Pippa didn.t really enjoy showing Working with the gun was her best thing in life. She gained her show gundog certificate and, at the time, was the youngest to do so I think. She liked nothing better than to show up these mad working springers and would often come back with a runner or lost bird that the rest had missed!.

She did fairly well in the show ring over the years and produced a few nice puppies as well. She gave us the "bug" for showing that has lasted longer than we both wish to remember. Another of our oldies who is sadly missed. My fondest memories of her are working in cover and the look of disgust if I missed! And her being placed 3rd at a field trial over several more experienced "working" springers.
